Decorative Arts
Sue Ellen Gallery displays an ever-changing selection of decorative arts including porcelain, bronze sculpture and art glass. Each piece is selected for its beauty, craftsmanship and character.
Australian glass artist Noel Hart has chosen the Gallery to exclusively exhibit his visually stunning glass sculptures in Queensland. Noel's works celebrate the diverse, and in some cases endangered, parrot species of the world.
The Gallery offers a fine range of bronzes by noted Australian sculptor David Harrison. David's fluid and graceful nudes complement both contemporary and traditional interior design schemes. These limited edition works are individually numbered and signed by the artist.
New to the Gallery is the sculpture work of Laila Bell, a Danish-born artist who is now based in Byron Bay. Leila's sculptures focus on the human form, exploring the themes of lovers, parenthood and infants. Her depictions of the varying stages of life have an intimate, sensuous quality.
Works by Noel Hart, David Harrison and Laila Bell are available for purchase in our Online Store at right.
Fine Art
The Gallery displays paintings, drawings and original lithographs, etchings and engravings by acclaimed Australian and international artists. International works are sourced primarily from Paris, London and New York, and all works are certified authentic.
We are now exhibiting some of very latest paintings by successful Thai artist Attasit Pokpong. One of Thailand’s leading contemporary artists, Attasit is recognised as a master of watercolour, acrylic and oils. His works display an intruiging blend of luminosity and vibrancy.
The Gallery also has a number of works by highly respected Australian artist David Boyd, including oils, mixed media, signed etchings and variants of the limited edition fine art book Reconciliation: an Australian Odyssey.
Of particular interest is Reconciliation: an Australian Fallacy. This a boxed set of bound etchings, unbound hand coloured etchings, book and loose correspondence, published in a limited edition of fifteen copies, represents fine art publisher Robert Littlewood’s version of his major disagreement with artist David Boyd over the publication of Reconciliation. This is a controversial and historically important publication.
Our collection is constantly changing, so at any time you may find lithographs, engravings and etchings by 20th century masters including Picasso, Renoir, Matisse, Chagall and Miro, together with highly sought after Australian artists like Pro Hart, David Boyd, John Olsen and Norman Lindsay . A selection of works are available for purchase online.
